Help with Prossy's COVID Recovery

Donation protected

Hi,

I'm reaching out to all alumni from the UBC Midwifery Global Program who had a placement in Uganda, to raise funds for our mentor Prossy Musoke. Prossy, now 61, has been a midwife for 35 years, most of that time spent at Masaka Regional Referral Hospital, where she reduced the neonatal mortality rate from 67/1000 to 10/1000! Prossy spent the later part of her career traveling Uganda and the world as a highly sought after Helping Babies Breath Instructor. Prossy has also precepted dozens of UBC Midwifery students. Unfortunately, Prossy is in a private hospital in Kampala where she has been readmitted with COVID complications including DIC and DVT. She is now satting >90% on 3L of oxygen, and can stand for 5 min without collapsing, and she is receiving treatment for the clots. The expenses related to her care are far beyond her capacity to pay, the first 2 week admission cost $3750 USD and we anticipate this one will cost more. Also,  she will require funds to support her while she continues to heal at home. If you can help in any way, your assistance will be greatly appreciated.
