Help With Recovery Expenses for Hailed Hero, Tina L. Wilson
Donation protected
On April 5, 2024, the life of Tina L. Wilson was forever changed. Tina was transporting a group of Sigma Phi Epsilon college students from the University of South Carolina to New Orleans for a formal event. While traveling on I-10 (in Mississippi), the charter bus that she was driving, sustained a blowout, and she was ejected from the windshield of the bus. Tina was airlifted to the University Medical Center in New Orleans.
There were no casualties. I repeat, there were no casualties due to Tina’s heroic efforts! Tina risked her own life and did all that she was trained to do, which was protecting the precious souls that she was carrying that afternoon, the 56 students on the bus. The State Trooper on the scene that day hailed Tina a HERO and said, if but not for her actions, there would have been casualties.
Tina has held her Professional CDL License for more than 20+ years. Tina did not panic. Her prior training, experience, expertise, quick thinking, and spontaneous actions, coupled with her calmness guided the charter bus to safety and saved ALL the souls on the bus.
It is miraculous, truly a miracle that Tina even survived this horrifying, and frightful accident. After Tina was ejected from the bus, any number of things could have happened to her: (she could have hit other vehicles; other vehicles could have hit her; the bus could have rolled over her (crushing her); the bus could have flipped over, and realistically, Tina could have lost her life). But, none of that happened. This is a true testament to the Power of God!
Tina stated to The Family that she remembers saying, ‘That tire blew’. She does not recall much more after that, except vaguely remembering being loaded into the waiting helicopter, and then awaking at UMC in New Orleans.
Tina did sustain injuries, some of which will have her in the ICU for an undetermined amount of time (we can't share much more than that due to HIPAA privacy laws, and to maintain privacy for Tina). But, The Family would like to share with you that she DID NOT sustain a traumatic brain injury. She DID NOT have a spinal cord injury. She DID NOT have any internal injuries. She DID NOT have any facial trauma and/or lacerations (only 1 minor scratch on the tip of her nose). She DOES NOT have any paralysis. And there WERE NOT any fatalities. Hallelujah! Praise God! All the praise and all of the glory is given to GOD! The Blood of Jesus surely covered and protected Tina! But God, but GOD, BUT GOD!
Tina maintains her good sense of humor and flashes that award-winning smile that we all know and love. Tina continues to thank GOD for protecting her and keeping her safe throughout that ordeal. She is thankful to the couple who came to her aid while she was dazed and confused on the highway. She is thankful to all who have whispered a soft prayer or sent a good wish on her behalf. Tina is extremely thankful that she was returned to her family and friends.
Tina remains optimistic about the future, but she did express to The Family that she will not return to truck driving, as she is too deeply traumatized by the events that occurred on April 5th. So, after 20+ years of being a Professional CDL driver, she will be changing her profession. To what? At the moment, she is not sure. Tina doesn’t question the reason(s) for what happened to her, but she knows that she has a greater purpose and a greater calling in her life. Prayer Warriors, continue to pray for healing and recovery over Tina.
Tina has to heal physically, emotionally, and mentally. She is still processing her feelings and emotions. She remains strong. Tina has a very long journey ahead of her, therefore, The Family is reaching out to you, you, and you today and soliciting this fundraising campaign on her behalf.
We are requesting monetary donations. Any amount is appreciated. The smallest donation makes a powerful impact – so please join us in our mission to help Tina financially until she can chart her next course. Your generosity will make a significant difference and empower Tina to remain strong and concentrate on healing from this near-death, horrific life-changing experience.
Additionally, if you would like to send letters, greeting cards, and/or gift cards to Tina to cheer her up, please forward them to: Tina L. Wilson c/o Shirley A. Wilson, 1639 Streetsboro Plz, Box2231, Streetsboro, OH 44242.
