Help with Rick Welliver's Monthly Medical Bills
Donation protected
In June of 2023, Rick experienced a life-altering event when he had a heart attack during his visit to Milwaukee. The ordeal led to a two-night, three-day hospital stay, revealing not only a blocked artery but also an unexpected birth defect in another artery, uncovering a lifelong battle with heart disease. As a result, Rick now faces a daunting pile of medical bills exceeding $80,000. We're reaching out for support to alleviate the financial burden that has come with his unexpected health challenges.
Growing up in the Hillyard neighborhood, Rick discovered the positive impact boxing could have on disadvantaged kids, steering them away from a life of crime. Motivated by this insight, he pursued a career in professional boxing. After 16 matches, he established his own gym, where he passionately trains and coaches individuals from all walks of life—athletes, everyday individuals, and kids with diverse backgrounds. This includes children and teens from organizations such as Daybreak Youth Services, Crosswalk, and Morning Star Boys’ Ranch.
Rick is dedicated to working with disadvantaged youth in the Spokane area and understands the importance of making the most out of life. Your support can make a significant difference in Rick's ongoing struggle with health-related expenses, allowing him to continue his meaningful work in the community.
