Tammie Kram’s medical expenses & coming home

Hi, my name is Rylee Schroeder. I am Tammie Kram’s stepdaughter. She has been my dad’s (Mark Gonzalez) partner in life since I was 8 years old (roughly 16 years). They have had two beautiful daughters together, Zoie Gonzalez (14) & Maggie Gonzalez (13). They have built a life they love and have come on some hard times recently and I am hoping to help relieve some financial strain by starting this Go Fund Me.

 

October 22,2021 Tammie went into her planned procedure in Fargo to get stints on 4 of her aneurysms that they had found a couple months beforehand. She had been suffering with them for a while and had quite a few “mini strokes” before discovering them! Tammie went through the procedure fine but it was in recovery where things took a turn. Tammie would not wake up and the doctors kept trying to find out what was wrong. After a few days of her being in an induced coma they came to the conclusion that Tammie had suffered two strokes on her left side of her brain shortly after her procedure was finished . Tammie was expected to be in the ICU for up to 6 months but because of her willingness to work hard she fought like crazy to get out of there. She was soon transferred to a rehabilitation center back home in Grand Forks, ND after 18 days in Fargo.

 

Tammie is receiving around the clock care and gets high intensity physical & occupation therapy for hours during the day as well as visiting with a speech pathologist daily. Tammie is working hard every day to regain her skills she needs to be able to come home and be independent again . In the meantime the doctors and staff advised Mark to make some changes around the house to help accommodate for when Tammie gets to come home. He is needing to add many hand rails, a shower stool, a chair to get up and down the stairs, a ramp to get into the house. She will also need 24/7 care in which Mark will need to hire an in home nurse to help care for Tammie until she attains her mobility & ability to speak again!
