Telicia lost battle with stage 4 RMS, help funeral

Hi my name is kaelyance and I’m fundraising for my daughter Telicia, she was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.

My daughter was admitted to Chilliwack General Hospital on August 9 2021 for a pain in her stomach and rectal bleeding. A mass was found in her pelvis which they thought was an abscess, the doctor   made an incision to drain it with no drainage.
A CT scan was done the mass was a tumour. My daughter had a colonoscopy and a biopsy of the tissue was taken, then sent to the BC Cancer Agency for screening.
August 18, Dr Henry, called to inform us that it was a cancer named Small Round Blue Cell Sarcoma, a very rare and aggressive type of cancer,  15 to 20 people a year are diagnosed with it.

August 20, Dr Hamilton, oncologist surgeon in Vancouver, I said that she would have to go to chemo and radiation to shrink the tumour before they could operate.

August 25 she had her first visit with Dr. Oja, her medical oncologist at Surrey BC Cancer agency, followed with a CT, PET scan.
During all of these visits she was still passing blood clots, unable to pass bowels or sit, stand or walk for more than 10-15 mins despite the pain medication.

Sept 6 the left side of her face, temple and tongue became swollen, she couldn’t hear or swallow, so I took her to the emergency room, she had lost more than half her blood and was given three blood transfusions and two platelets transfusions. hemoglobin 45, platelets were 19 and high calcium in her blood.

September 7, she was told the cancer had  spread to her lungs, the tumour was the size of a cantaloupe, and that she has stage 4 SRBCS.
She was then transferred from CGH to Vancouver General Hospital for the level of care she needed with the specialists, tests and machines needed, she was met with a team of surgeons, booked for surgery on September 8 to remove the tumour which will leave her disfigured, but would stop her tumour from bleeding. She had three more blood/ platelets transfusions before surgery, due to the risk of blood loss during surgery, if they don’t operate right away to stop the bleeding she would pass away from the blood loss.

Telicia has always been very positive and goal oriented and was accepted into Psychiatric Nursing at University of Fraser Valley September 17 2021. She has always been so full of life and born resilient and a go-getter. She graduated in 2018, she met her boyfriend Bjorn shortly after. Bjorn has never left her side and continues to be by her side through her diagnosis.
Telicia is 21, the oldest of four siblings ages Tito 19, Anixicia 17 and Mikaila 16.

This money will be used for medical devices, ie wheelchair, medical devices medication, transportation, hotel stays, food and bills. I’m a mental health and addictions worker, so I have taken time off and on EI to be by her side which makes it difficult to get the medical necessities she requires and daily care.

I am forever grateful and thank you because in this present time every little bit counts.
