Help with the cost of Humira medication

Hey, everyone! (Please read when you have time)
My name is Vernard. I’m a creator of art, music, I’m a gymnast, etc. I was gifted with all of these things and I was very active. But all of that changed when I was 12 was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis at the age of 12. I’ve fought this battle more than half of my life. As well as another battle of a skull fracture. There were times that I almost gave up and succumbed to defeat. March 5, 2011 around 1:17pm I was dying in my mother’s arms on the floor of the ER. During this time period over a few months, I almost died several times.
I fought for disability back then for years but that was of no success. I consider myself a warrior and didn’t want and don’t want to get treated differently or not work because of an illness. So I went to work in pain daily and barely had the ability to move at times. I often get terminated from jobs because of this illness. And I’m going through financially because of this as well. It’s sometimes hard to do things others consider “normal.” The states insurance is tricky at times and it takes time that I don’t have to get approved. And in my situation, I’m currently looking for work and when I find it, I have to wait a certain amount of time to receive some type of insurance. And that’s been my story and my story as of now, unfortunately. And with the condition that I’m in, I will be needing to take my monthly Humira injection to feel somewhat “normal” until I can receive some type of insurance that will cover the medication. I’m looking to get my Humira covered for at least 3 months. Humira cost $8,300 for two injection pens/syringes—injections are every two weeks for me.
I try my best to not show that I’m dealing with an illness or ask anyone for anything besides my parents. That I hope to pay back one day. I show love to everyone and if you know me, you know me to be a genuine and loving person. I don’t even have to state this. But to help others that don’t know of me, this is one time that I will speak of myself.
I’m beyond thankful for life and grateful that I can help others and share my stories. I truly appreciate the prayers and help!
Blessings,
-Vee
Some of my quotes below and the type of mindset I possess. And how I’m able to still smile, encourage others, help others, fight to live, etc despite my health issues:
• "If you don't apply 'life's' principles to life such as victory & overcoming any obstacle, you've already applied 'death's' principles to life such as defeat & succumbing to any barrier." -Vee Whit
• The human brain is needed to support critical functions to sustain life. Needless to say, without it we would cease to exist. As humans, we often wonder why people do the things they do, say the things they say, act the way they act. etc. If I can be a light to someone in darkness, I would tell them to guard your heart (mind) from death or deadly things. And you shall surely find life. Don't let evil things corrupt your mind. It is the most important thing to you.
“Change the way you think, then you can change the way things are and will be.“ -Vee Whit
• “I often find myself pondering on how things and the mindset of humans have become as they are. And from my observation I found out that it all starts with a seed (thought) in the mind, rather it's a God given thought, something that entices our own desires or from things we've seen, heard, or been taught, etc. Regardless of how the seed is planted, these thoughts eventually are conceived and manifested into reality. And from there, we have to live with the consequences from the actions that these thoughts have caused rather they be good or bad. Think POSITIVE and show love to everyone that you encounter. Blessings to you all.“ -Vee Whit
