Help with Maasai Dental Clinic Expansion

We started treating dental patients in the Mara in 2009 and realized the great need in this area with the Maasai people. Our humble beginning was a straight back wooden chair with no suction and a flashlight for our intra-oral light. We have been able to serve the people in an expanded way since then.

In 2013, we built a one chair dental clinic and expanded our services beyond just extractions. We are now able to perform cosmetic dentistry, fillings, extractions, and root canals. Four or five times a year, dentists from the United States come to the clinic and volunteer their time to treat patients. In January 2024, we once again expanded our care with the addition of a Community Dental Officer who is from the local community on the Maasai Mara and trained in Nairobi.

We currently need to update and again expand our services. This expansion will include 2 additional dental chairs, much needed storage space, and a dental lab to fabricate dentures and partials. In order to accomplish this, we will need $40,000 USD to renovate and purchase much needed equipment. Thank you for your support in this effort to serve the Maasai people and their dental needs.
