Help with transplant costs for John

Hello, I'm John, and I am reaching out to you with a heartfelt plea for support for a close friend, John Lafferty.
John is in a challenging situation, and I believe that with your help, we can overcome the challenges and help John through what will be the more difficult and dangerous phase of his life.
John suffers from Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD), which is an inherited disorder in which clusters of cysts develop over the kidneys, causing the kidneys to enlarge and fail over time. The disease itself is serious; however, for John, there have been some major complications.
John was diagnosed with PKD and had to stop work due to the pain and treatments he was undergoing. in 2016, John had one of his kidneys removed due to the enlargement and cysts rupturing. His last kidney failed and was removed in 2021.
John has been on dialysis three times a week and was put on a kidney transplant list. Unfortunately for John, the years of treatments and now dialysis have weakened his heart to the point he now needs a Heart and Kidney transplant. Each week, his heart is getting weaker, as of 22 November, his heart was only functioning at 16%. Standing up is now a major struggle for John.
His specialist team have put John on the Transplant List as a Priority One, and they are hopeful that John can have the surgery within two months and before it is too late.
John is going to have to stay close to the Hospital in Sydney for up to three months, both before surgery and after, while his body goes through the process of accepting a new heart and kidneys. Home for John is just outside Canberra, so he won't be able to stay at home during the pre and post-operation periods. this will add to the financial strain for John.
John will need support for day-to-day costs such as accommodation, transport and living expenses. The funds will go directly towards those costs. Your support will make a significant difference in helping John overcome this challenge.

Many of you will know John from his involvement in woodworking, 3D printing and competitive bike racing. Getting John back on a bike will be a major success goal for 2024.
