Help with vet bills and move cost for Bentley

Donation protected
Hiya everyone,

I am here to raise support for my husbands cat, Bentley.
We are currently facing unplanned vet bills for the little fluffball. These are piling up on top of the fact that we're trying to secure a move for him from the United States to Germany, which is unfortunately very costly itself.

A little bit more about us and Bentley

I'm from Germany and my husband is from the United States. After a long distance relationship for a couple years, we made plans for him to move over to Germany, after he had lost his job and struggled to find a new one in the United States for some time. After getting everything together and carefully planning the move, we finally were able to make it happen in May 2024. In order for us to get everything ready, taking care of all the appointments and make sure my husband can get all the necessary papers to stay in Germany, a good friend of us had agreed to take my husbands cat Bentley in, for us to get him over in a couple of months.

But as usual, things didn't all quite go as planned, despite best efforts and soon additional costs kept piling up. Costs, that I've tried my best to cover with my income, with savings and the help of friends and family. With my husband being new to the country, he's not able to generate income yet, as we're waiting for all the paperwork to be done.
So unfortunately it has come to a point, where I'm barely able to cover all the costs, let alone putting savings aside for the move for Bentley. And now the medical issues arose and we have to worry about upcoming vet bills as well.

The medical issues

Bentley had stopped eating properly about a month ago and shying away from food. Our friend, with who Bentley is currently living, brought him to a vet then and they've figured out, he's got teeth issues, giving him a lot of pain and making him unable to eat well. For the time being, he's on a temporary treatment to ease his pain and soft foods, but it's not a long term solution.

According to the vet, Bentley may have to have several teeth removed and the cost estimate with all the treatments surrounding that is roughly between $1,100 and $1,500.

The moving costs

In order to reunite Bentley and my husband, we'll have to arrange a move from the United States to Germany. Not an easy feat unfortunately. We've looked into taking care of it ourselves, but with so many rules, regulations and necessary paperwork for little Bentley to be able to enter the European Union, we've reached out pet move companies.
After inquiring with several of them, the cost to acquire all the necessary paperwork, preparing Bentley for travels, the flight, clearing import and customs in Germany, was quoted to us at roughly $3,500 to $4,500.

Usage of the raised money

We're looking to first and foremost use the raised money to cover for the medical bills for Bentley. Whatever is left after that, we would pour into the costs of moving Bentley to Germany.

Lastly, I wanted to say, I never wanted to have to resort to fundraising, but given all the circumstances, there's no denying we need help to get all of this sorted out. I want nothing more than making sure, Bentley is going to be well again and finally reuniting him with my husband.

Me, my husband and Bentley greatly appreciate any kind of support. We want to say thank you in advance for everybody, who is able and willing to help us deal with this.
