Help The Wounded In Ukraine
Donation protected
We are Fundraising For:
We are fundraising for medical equipment and its delivery to a non-profit organization in Kyiv, Ukraine, called "Громадська Організація Медики Доброї Волі" or in English "Civic Organization of Doctors of Good Will."
Background and Purpose:
The head of this organization, Kochergina Varvara Viktorovna, currently treating wounded soldiers in hospitals located in Kyiv and Cherkasy, reached out to Batraz and his family earlier in April 2022 and asked for help. Their families are old friends, and Batraz’s mother went to university with Varvara in Kyiv in the 1990s. She and her team are running short of special Physical Therapy Equipment (PTE), which is used to heal bullets and shrapnel wounds. The number of wounded far exceeds their current capacity, and Varvara’s organization will soon be unable to continue to treat the wounded.
Currently, PTE is by far the best option for treating such wounds and you can learn more about its effectiveness in the machine's description below. Varvara stated that just 5 new devices and around 360 supplementary kits would help them keep running for additional 3 months and help save the lives of dozens of brave Ukrainian soldiers!
Unfortunately, such machines and kits cannot currently be found in Ukraine. This is why Batraz and Yehor reached out to the manufacturer “Genadyne”, and luckily, it has everything needed in stock in their facility in Turkey. In the conversation with Genadyne, we have been offered a 50% discount as the producer wishes to support Ukraine as well! They will also further assist shipment of supplies from Turkey to Poland, from where it will be shipped further to Kyiv.
This fundraiser is a great way to contribute to helping the Ukrainian war effort and resolve the medical crisis in the country. It is different from contributing to a larger organization that already sees the most funding. Smaller organizations such as this are more limited in their capabilities due to a lack of funding and proper networks.
