Greetings!

I'm Doug, owner of W.Whitman Books, an Independent Used Bookstore located in Middleburgh, New York, a small village located midway between Albany and Cooperstown New York, offering an eclectic collection of used and rare books.

Independent bookstores are an endangered species and are constantly working to expand their offerings to attract new patrons.

Founded in 2017, WWB has presented acclaimed acoustic music concerts and photography/art exhibits, drawing customers from Schoharie County, the Greater Capital Region and Downstate New York.

Five years ago we created a poetry blog on our Facebook page which has since attracted over 24,900 followers from the U.S. and abroad.

Given the challenging business environment for independent bookstores, not adjusting to attract more customers and sales ultimately results in lights out for the store. But to effect change, funding is needed.

With that in mind, we have created a new WWB Membership Plan that will help keep the shop going and provide funding for online expansion. Membership starts at $25, with the option to contribute more.
