Help Wycombe House Cricket Club After Robbery!
Donation protected
On the 8th of March 2021 Wycombe House Cricket Club was the victim of a robbery, where thousands of pounds worth of ground and club equipment were stolen. This comes just weeks before the club prepare for the 2021 season following what has already been an extremely difficult year.
Some of the equipment and machinery stolen is vital for the club to continue preparation for the season ahead, which is just a few weeks away! Some we had just purchased over the winter!
The groundsman was in the middle working on the ground and was moving machinery in and out of the storage area so as always has been done for years the shutter was open. During the few minutes he was away working in the middle of the ground, the thieves came in a van and stole the machinery/equipment, as soon as the groundsman realised something suspicious and started walking towards them, they quickly got in the van and drove away. We are unaware of the situation regarding insurance as there was no actual forced break in, therefore it could become a complicated process.
However we require support for funds to urgently purchase the machinery necessary in order to continue our preparation for this season in upcoming weeks.
The police attended the scene right away and are investigating the robbery

Wycombe House and it's members had worked extremely hard over the last 7 months to raise funds in order to repair the ground, buy vital machinery (some of which has been stolen) and hire a groundsman which had already started seeing dividends as shown in the beautiful picture above.
However the cricket club is still greatly struggling to maintain the level required and has been even further impacted now without necessary machinery after the disgraceful actions of the robbery literally a few weeks before the season is about to start.
Wycombe House Cricket Club is a volunteer led club in West London, Osterley, that for many years has been at the heart of the community providing an opportunity for children and adults of all backgrounds and abilities to enjoy the sport of cricket. It has proudly produced many professional and international cricketers over the years that have represented England and England under 19's.
Recently the club has been going through major financial and ground difficulties, to the extent it had been issued a 5 year suspension warning by the Middlesex County Cricket League due to the standard of facilities which has greatly threatened the continuation of this historical cricket club, which has now been further compounded by the actions of these vile thieves!
We are reaching out to all our cricketing family, members, supporters, neighbours and friends to please support us through this difficult time and help keep Wycombe House Cricket Club alive! The funds will be directly used to replace stolen machinery/equipment to continue the preparation for 2021 season and improvement of the ground to meet league standards, as well as enhance security at the ground to try and prevent a robbery happening again!
