Help Xavier’s Family After Losing Home in Eaton Fire
Donation protected
Dear friends and family,
On the night of Tuesday, January 7, my cousin Xavier Marquez, his wife Angela, their three adult children, his mother-in-law, and his brother-in-law confronted an unimaginable tragedy when their home in Altadena was destroyed by the Eaton Fire.
In the face of danger, Xavier’s family managed to evacuate with only essential documents, a few cherished family photos, and a small amount of clothing. Everything else they owned was lost in the disaster.
Currently, Xavier and his family are staying with his Aunt Rachel in Santa Clarita, sleeping on air mattresses and finding comfort in her famed Puerto Rican cooking. Also sheltering with Rachel is Ms. Betty Benson, a 92-year-old Los Angeles native who was displaced by the fire and requires special care.
Despite the challenges, Xavier's family remains in good spirits, displaying the fortitude and optimism they are known for. Their resilience is inspiring, but the road ahead is daunting.
