Help Xena & Sparrow: A Call for Compassion and Assistance

Hi, my name is Barry and my wife and I are residents of Bethel, Vermont. We're animal lovers at heart and right now we're offering emergency shelter for two wonderful horses, Xena and Sparrow, on our property. These horses haven't had shelter from Vermont’s harsh winters, and we’ve stepped in to provide them with a safe and warm barn, but we need your help.

Sparrow, who is nearly 30 years old, has specific needs due to her advanced age. She requires dental care, special supplements, and additional nutrition as she is currently underweight. We are doing everything we can to provide for her, but the financial burden of hay, grain, bedding and veterinary care is significant, especially with winter approaching.

The owners of Xena and Sparrow, who include a dedicated Iraq War Veteran, are facing severe financial hardships. They love these horses dearly but are struggling to make ends meet. They would do anything for their beloved animals, even if it means sacrificing their own well-being. The reality of rural Vermont life means that sometimes, despite the best intentions, help is needed to make sure these animals receive the care they deserve.
