Help Xion Get to Safety

Xion, a queer 22 year old artist living in Caracas, and his boyfriend Arturo have managed their dream of saving up for a flight out of Venezuela to Argentina in the hopes of starting a safer, healthier life outside of a country with a rapidly degrading economy and increasingly scary government. Unfortunately policy has changed recently such that Xion can no longer leave using his national ID and needs to pay to get a passport expedited. Without expediting, there is no clear timeline of when one would receive their passport and it can easily take over a year. There is an issue of haste as circumstances in Venezuela degrade every day and there is also worry that as Venezuelans increasingly emmigrate to safety, refuge will become harder to attain. Xion is looking for funding for an expediter that he's found and thoroughly background checked in hopes that he'll have the money in time for the 8-11 day turnaround in advance of his sept 4th flight. Any size contribution will be a huge help and any additional funds will help make the transition to a new country easier for Xion and his boyfriend. 





I'm helping to facilitate this process as a close friend of Xion's living in the United States as gofundme works better from here. Xion and I met in an online drag illustration community where he is a pillar and an inspiration to many as his drag character Sally Spellman. It would be wonderful to see a young, intelligent and impassioned artist and a beautiful queer soul find his way to a safer environment and maybe even back to school for the first time since his nation began to undergo drastic changes.
