Help Xzavien Battle Leukemia

We are reaching out today with a heavy heart to ask for help and support for our family. Our baby boy Xzavien O. Santiago is battling LEUKEMIA for a second time and will be in need of a BONE MARROW TRANSPLANT to save his life.

Xzavien is not only our son, but also the most passionate, kindest, energetic, and strongest boy that we know, with a heart of gold.

Xzavien's journey started on October 28, 2021, when he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, a type of cancer of the blood and bone marrow that affects white blood cells.

After several months of chemotherapy,

Xzavien reached remission status.

Although in remission, he still needed to take chemotherapy medication at home, as well as in the hospital due to the high relapse rate that this type of cancer has.

We were thrilled when he entered his maintenance stage of chemotherapy because there were less hospital stays, and he could slowly get back to his normal life. Unfortunately, that stage didn't last very long. On March 10, 2023, our worst fear of a possible relapse came true.

Due to his relapse, he started another form of treatment called Immunotherapy. Unfortunately, he suffered some severe complications and was admitted to the pediatric ICU on March 28, 2023, for congestive heart failure.

Xzavien fought hard in the ICU for seven days and is slowly stabilizing. He will remain in the hospital due to his current conditions, under close observation until he is ready for his Bone Marrow Transplant, where he will remain after his transplant for three months.

Being a family of seven, it is very difficult to manage our four other children and Xzavien's need of full time care. Our medical, travel, and daily living expenses are consuming us as we are not able to work full time. In this time of need, any donation, no matter how large or small, will help us in a major way, even if it’s just “sharing” our page.
