Help Yahya and his family in Gaza
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Amira Hammad and I am from Switzerland. The initial idea of raising funds for Yahya comes from my friend, Amy Renata who is from New Zealand. I, Amira Hammad, am responsible of withdrawing the money into my bank account and transfer it directly to Yahya via Paypal/Banking transfer.
We have collaborated together to support our friend Yahya, a 27 years old Palestinian who was born in the North of Gaza. This opportunity for us means everything.
Since October 7th 2023, heavy bombardments from the occupation fell on Yahya’s city, forcing him to leave his home which was completely destroyed. Here are pictures of Yahya, standing on what is left of his home. When you look at these pictures imagine losing everything in a few seconds…
Because of the loss of his house and the danger that threatened his life, Yahya had to flee with his family to the south of Gaza. This is where he now lives, in constant threat of danger no less than in the North of Gaza.
Yahya is just like any human being in this world. He has a life to live, dreams to fulfill and goals to achieve. Here is the story of Yahya in his own words:
“Hello, I am Yahya from Gaza and I am still alive. I am a talented and professional individual, practicing a few skills and I have a lot of dreams and goals.
I have been practicing parkour for ten years and throughout these years, I have been deeply interested in this sport. There is always a new war in Gaza, and every time, my soul escapes death and my dreams and goals are destroyed again. It is truly very exhausting.
My dream is to coach in my sporting discipline and to participate at international championships. I have not been able to achieve this dream because of the wars, the difficult living conditions and the consistently closed border crossing. I also have a tendon injury because of my sport and I need to have surgery abroad to achieve my dream. Now the border crossing is open but there are many barriers to leaving Gaza, including a large sum of money required to cross the border. It is indeed a very challenging and overwhelming situation.
During this war, my house was bombed, destroying all my dreams and memories in this home. I evacuated from my home, and now I live in a tent under extremely challenging humanitarian conditions that normal human beings in this world could not bear. I hope that all of this ends, so I can rebuild my home again. This home included seven apartments which housed my wider family, with families of three to four living in each apartment.
There are also many problems that I am currently facing, including that my parents need medical treatment. There is a shortage of essential medications for them, and my family needs help with all their necessities. I wanted to create this fundraising page to collect donations to help myself and my family. I want to help my family to rebuild the seven apartments that we have lost and to leave Gaza to achieve my dreams. I hope you can support me and donate.
I am Yahya, and I am still alive."
As you can see in Yahya's story, we are raising money for two purposes.
Firstly, Yahya and his family need money for essential goods, like food, clothes and medical treatment for his parents.
Secondly, Yahya needs to evacuate Gaza as soon as possible, as the bombings are in every place in his area.
To fulfill these two goals, we will need at least 10 000 Swiss Francs. Eventually, the rest of the money will help him to rebuild a new home in Gaza. We are counting on your donations.
Today, Yahya needs our help more than ever. Please donate to help Yahya rebuild his life, his family’s lives and his destiny.
We thank you so much for your donations. You are saving Yahya’s life and the lives of Yahya’s wider family!
If you are unable to donate, it would be greatly appreciated if you could please share this campaign.
Please do not hesitate to follow Yahya on his Instagram's page also, so that you can be updated on his current situation in Gaza.
