Help Yamen's Family Evacuate Gaza

Donation protected
I'm Yamen Alhaj, originally from Gaza, Palestine, and currently a resident in Bolivia. I used to live in Gaza 5 years ago but due to the absence of employment opportunities, I moved to Bolivia to search for work.

Before the tragic events of October 7, my family lived in Gaza with a sense of resilience and determination, despite the challenges that life in the region often presented. My father and mother were striving to create a stable environment for my little brother and sister. They always had dreams of seeing their children grow and succeed, always encouraging us to pursue our education and aspirations. their gentle spirit was a source of solace, making our home a refuge from the uncertainties outside.

My 20-year-old brother Mohammed, is a young man full of potential. He was deeply invested in his studies, with aspirations of building a future that would allow him to contribute positively to our community. He was passionate about learning, so he chose to study (Software Engineering) at Al-Azhar university driven by the belief that education was the key to overcoming the challenges we faced. His university was destroyed and he lost all his dreams of completing his education.

My sister Fidaa, at 24, was equally ambitious. She had completed her studies( English Literature) and was planning her next steps, and was ready to start her career path in EMAAR company, which is a top real estate developer from Dubai, famous for building landmarks like the Burj Khalifa and luxury communities. In addition to improving herself as a Freelance Translator, but now she lost all the opportunities she had. Both of them shared dreams of making a difference in the world, despite the obstacles that stood in their way.

The catastrophic events of October 7 shattered my family’s world, forcing them into a harrowing struggle for survival. As the conflict intensified, it became clear that staying in their home in Nuseirat camp was no longer safe. On the 3rd of January, Al-Nuseirat camp became a life-threatening zone so they made the heart-wrenching decision to leave everything behind and seek refuge in Deir Al-Balah.

The displacement also took a heavy toll on my parents and the move to Deir Al-Balah was a profound disruption of their lives. In Deir Al-Balah, they lived in a tent and had to contend with overcrowded conditions, limited resources, and the constant worry of where their next meal or clean water would come from. On the 7th of March, Al-Nuseirat massacre happened and it was one of the bloodiest and most heartbreaking events during the war on that tragic day, we lost members of our family and close friends.

Why We Need Your Help:
1. Safe Evacuation: The cost of safely evacuating my family from Gaza to a safer location is significant. This includes transportation, temporary shelter, and essential supplies to sustain them during this challenging time.
2. Basic Needs: As the conflict intensifies, access to food, water, and medical supplies becomes limited. Your donations will help ensure that my family has access to these basic necessities.
3. Support and Care: The emotional and psychological toll of living through war is immense. I want to provide my family with the necessary support and care they need to cope with the trauma and rebuild their lives.

I am attempting to raise money for my family:
1-Father (Abdaljawwad) and mother (Nima)
2-Brother (Mohammed, 20y)
3-Sister (Fidaa, 24y)
The money will be used to evacuate Gaza and rebuild their lives so that my brother and sister can continue their education.

The funds raised will be used to evacuate Gaza, where each individual crossing Egypt must pay $5000, along with additional fees and living costs upon arrival in Egypt.

Egypt fees: $5,000 per person * 4 members = $20k
Add to that the 2.9% (plus an additional $0.30 per donation) GoFundMe would take and the fees on money transfers the bank would take.
The rest of the money will be used for travel expenses and any associated fees for the bank transfers.

The bank account which will be collecting the funds is Revolut Bank in London, UK.

Any support you can offer, whether it's a donation or simply sharing our campaign with your network, will be deeply appreciated. Together, we can make a difference and help my family find safety, peace, and hope during these trying times.

Thank you for your support.

With gratitude,
Yamen Alhaj
