Help Yazzie be placed to rest.
My name is Victoria Arviso, Yazzie’s younger sister.
Brian was my older brother. He was a United States Retired Army Veteran who had just started his life in the civilian world.
Brian retired from Germany, his last duty station before return home to Arizona.
When he returned home, like many military veterans he had a hard time adjusting to the civilian life. My brother had big plans to enjoy his life outside the military. If anyone knew him, he loved to travel, drink a beer and stay active outdoors.
He adopted a German Shepherd, her name is Samantha Lola Yazzie aka Sam. Who was his best friend and side kick.
He got an apt in Avondale, Az and enrolled into school, UTI with goals to graduate as a mechanic.
He was determined to graduate and leave. His plan was to settle down in Pennsylvania.
Brian was locally recognize in Arizona for fighting for his life against Covid pneumonia. And he did. My brother fought to the end. He fought fighting, even when Covid took over. My brother fought to come home. The nurse called him a miracle, they said they have never seen anyone as sick as he was fight as hard and as long as he did. The medical staff stood outside his room, with their last words. “It was an honor to work for your brother.” And thanked him for his service.
My brother passed December 24, 2021.
The last things a little sister should do on Christmas Day is write about her brothers death, constantly informing his family and friends as time passes. I thought I was going to be planning a welcome home party. Instead I am planning a funeral.
I promised my brother I would stay strong for the both is us. I promised him I would put him to rest and not let any finances worry our father. As I told my brother “It’s okay, I know you are no longer suffering, you can go. I will make sure the family is okay. And Sam is taken care of.” My heart is broken. My best friend has left this world.
He will remain in Arizona to rest and for everyone to say their goodbyes and see you again.
I promise you, to anyone reading this. Your donation to help my brother rest is appreciated. I wish it didn’t turn out this way.
