Help Year 6 pupils have an AWESOME residential trip!

Our childrens’ primary school runs a residential trip for their Year 6 pupils each year, taking them off to enjoy all that the Yorkshire Coast has to offer. It’s a special time for the kids, often the first time away from parents, promoting independence, resilience, developing social skills and more importantly these days - time away from screens.
Sadly, like most educational facilities, they are suffering economic headwinds and with last minute rising costs it has meant additional financial constraints on the school, making it incredibly difficult to cover. The teachers at the school are doing their utmost to make it a trip to remember for the children, but they really need your help.
There is currently a deficit of £538. To help raise this amount, I am seeking sponsorship for running 4 races between March and June, just in time for the residential trip. Being slightly horizontally challenged, running doesn’t necessarily come naturally to me, but I’m a sucker for a good cause and this definitely ticks that box. I’m currently trained comfortably to about 10km / 6.2 miles, but for my sins I have committed to run the following:
- March 16th - Thirsk 10 Mile (10 miles / 16 km) - a 10 mile road race
- April 27th - Spurn Super 7 (7 miles / 11.2 km) - a 7 mile mixed terrain run on the Spurn peninsula
- May 11th - The Drop York (at least 10 miles / 16km, probably more!) - blindfolded and dropped at a 10 mile distance away from the centre of York, I’ll need to find my way back with no GPS or map!
- June 15th - Leeds 10k - (10km / 6.2 miles) - a fast, flat, and usually baking hot 10km road race
After that, I’ll put my feet up, and hopefully the kids will all have a great time.
For every pound donated my family and I will match up to 50% of the deficit (£269). Please, help if you’re able to; every little helps! All funds raised will be given to the school.
