Help Yesie Run Disney! In Honor of Eddie Durand

Hello Everyone!
Our names are Milagros and Philip. I am Yesenia’s mother, and Phil is Yesenia’s loving husband and father of their beautiful 4-year-old daughter, my granddaughter. Phil is helping me (Millie) write this on Yesie’s behalf. They usually never ask for financial help and enjoy helping others in need.
Today we are asking for your help to fund Yesie to Run Disney! Keep Reading to understand her story and help her accomplish one of her dreams. Also, there are fundraiser incentives!
The past year has been quite challenging for Yesie and our family. In November (Thanksgiving day to be exact), we lost our Cavalier King Charles after 13 years of love and companionship. In December, Yesie’s grandmother(my mother-in-law) passed away after 93 years on this Earth. She was very close with her ‘Nana’ to the point where she was Yesie’s second mother. And then, to make matters even worse, Yesie lost her father in April, which was an absolute shock to our family. This destabilized our lives to the core. Her father was a stable and integral part of our lives, especially the best papa(grandfather) to their daughter and her cousins (our grandchildren). Just like in Moana, Yesie is her father’s daughter. Everything that her father was is carried out by Yesie forever and ever. These significant losses, especially with her dad, have greatly affected Yesie’s life. We are still adjusting our lives but never forget our loved ones.
The Incident and the ultimate decision to Run:
Before June, Yesie had memorialized her father with a tattoo. Her very first tattoo at that. During the grieving process, the idea came to her to attend and participate in a runDisney event. Her father was a person that believed and inspired Yesie to do anything that she wanted to do. He was always impressed with Yesie being a sort of Jack-of-all-trades person. runDisney has always been a bucket list/dream for her to complete. Her father had always mentioned everything he wanted to do in life, such as scuba diving, visiting Hawaii, boat cruises, owning/riding a Harley Davidson & a Corvette, and taking me to Disney, among other things. With everything life had handed him/us, he never had an excellent opportunity to do what he wanted. Yesie realized quickly how life can be short and taken away in an instance that now she plans to complete runDisney in honor of her father. This is only the beginning, and hopefully we can cross out some stuff from his bucket list as well.
In mid-June, their daughter slipped and fell, which led to dental surgery, removing Ellie’s two front teeth. The fall accident was devastating to us, as you can imagine. Gladly she is doing fine now. On the day of the surgery, the online registration opened for runDisney, which sells out within minutes. Yesie was skeptical that she would have the opportunity to register, but they opened the registration early, and she was able to gain access and sign up for the Disney Fairy Tale Challenge.
Financially it has been a struggle, and they have been doing their best to keep things afloat, including side hustles. Medical and funeral costs have dampened the opportunity to travel and run at these events. Yesie has been doing Make-up jobs and became a Travel Agent offering booking services at no price to customers. You would only need to book your trip or events through her. Phil has been coaching volleyball with individual clients. Both have been putting in extra work to help supplement the bills and such. They are doing these side hustles in addition to their normal Full-Time jobs, which have been taxing to their lives; however, they are always making time for their daughter as their priority.
Let’s explain what runDisney is all about. Since Yesie was able to sign up for the Disney Fairy Tale Challenge, this will include the Disney Princess 10K and the Disney Princess Half Marathon event, which totals 19.3 miles in one weekend. Completing both events entitles you to receive the Disney Fairy Tale Challenge medal and individual finisher medals. The runDisney event is set to take place on February 25-26th, 2023. The goal amount will cover approximately 65% of the total cost of the trip. Please get in touch with Phil or Yesie for more information if you’re interested in their fundraiser incentives. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this, and I hope we can complete the goal for this GoFundMe by January.
