Help Yolla in Beirut

Dear Friends,
Who you are and where you’re from
- My name is Hannah Mazkour, I am a Lebanese-American from Parrish, FL. I work for the World Food Program (a part of the UN) and I am currently living in Beirut, Lebanon.
Your relationship or contact to the parties you're raising funds for
- Yolla Jdeed is my neighbor and was the waitress in our local cafe. She is a close family friend I met while in Beirut.
How the funds will be spent (be as specific as possible)
- Rebuilding her home, taking care of her family's basic needs of food and shelter. 100% of these funds will go directly to Yolla and be spent on moving, shelter, medication, groceries, and other family expenses. Yolla didn't even seek assistance; she came to us with a request to help her acquire a laptop to generate income to take care of her family.
Your withdrawal plan to get the funds from the fundraiser to the person that they're intended for
- I will transfer the funds to my bank account in Lebanon, then I will withdraw the funds in USD and deliver the funds in cash to Yolla Jdeed.
If a beneficiary has been added, make sure your story includes the beneficiary’s name and relation to your cause
- It does.

We have devastating news, Yolla lost everything in the explosion in Beirut. Yolla's family lived together in a small house in Achrafieh. Her family home and all their possessions are gone, absolutely destroyed by the blast. We've put together this GoFundMe to raise money to aid Yolla in the turbulent upcoming months.
Yolla is the primary income-earner for her family. She supports her mother, Martha, uncle Fayez, and two younger siblings Georgio and Youmna.
Yolla is an incredible person, caring and giving, selfless to an extreme. Despite her humble means for over a decade, she has volunteered to assist refugees and the poor. When not volunteering, she is taking care of her handicapped aunt. Despite all these challenges, she takes in local stray cats and provides them with food, water, and shelter. Recently, we found out that the cafe where she works at hadn't paid her in 2020. Yet she worked to help that business without complaint. After losing her house in the explosion, she made rounds to check on all the neighbors to make sure they were safe.
There are no social welfare programs, no unemployment benefits, no emergency funding. Yolla has nowhere to turn for support and help; we are her lifeline.
I understand that these are hard times for everyone, but many of you have already asked how to help. Your support is deeply appreciated.
Best,
Friends of Yolla
