HELP YOUSEF TO LEAVE GAZA AND GO TO CANADA TO STUDY
Donation protected
My name is Viviana Codemo, I am Italian and I live in Tuscany. I have 3 children of about same age of my friend Yousef Asqoul. He is a young man of 29 living in Gaza who has asked me for help. Yousef and his family have survived almost 365 days of bombardment and other attacks. Despite these horrific state of affairs he has volunteered to help his community and nearby communities in the distribution of meals and water, and coordinated a water well project so that clean drinking water could be accessed to communities.
This fundraising initiative is meant to help Yousef leave Gaza for a life as a student abroad, so that he can escape the endless landscape of murdered children, devastated infrastructure and pursue and education. He has secured a spot in a graduate program in health administration in Canada and is working on a study permit.
I am hoping to raise funds as well for his sister, Saja, whose university study was interrupted when the institution—along with every other university in Gaza— was destroyed and she too will try to finish her education, in Cairo. Yousef’s youngest sister, Nada, is not finished high school yet but the funds could support her if she chooses to go to Cairo as well.
It is very expensive to cross into Egypt -- 5000 USD per person over 18 -- so this fundraiser is meant to cover the cost for Yousef and both his younger sisters to go to Cairo when the authorities open the crossing again, hopefully soon.
please open your heart and help.
