Help Yvonne Gomez Get New Legs

Hello, my name is Tera Beaumont, I have reached out to Santiago Ramirez a fellow co-worker and friend from Grapevine Dodge. Both Santiago and I are blessed with a dear friend Yvonne Gomez who is a true-life living angel. I hope you will take the time to read, and you can see for yourself how amazing this lady is.
About 20 years ago the Lord brought me a beautiful angel, this amazing lady is so humble, modest, and loving. She doesn’t realize how incredible of a blessing she is to all the people in her life. Once you meet her you are family, she has never met a stranger, she’s always giving of herself with kindness, love, and true compassion.
Over two years ago Yvonne started a very long journey of surgery after surgery, and sadly lost both of her legs from medical complications. Through all her surgeries she has always been optimistic, positive, and encouraging. While Yvonne was in the hospital then rehab, she set goals for herself 1st to vacuum, 2nd to walk and to 3rd to drive.
After Yvonne was released from rehab, she was referred to a prosthetic doctor that made her some stubbies. Stubbies are bars with a little rubber foot on the bottom. They are the first stage in learning how to walk before you get prosthetics. Yvonne goes faithfully to physical therapy she even got parallel bars in her bedroom to practice walking.
Sadly, after months of trying to use her stubbies, and struggling with them falling off while she was walking (I can’t even image how scary that would be); she found out the stubbies were made for unilateral (one side) amputee not bilateral (both sides) amputee. She has now found an amazing bilateral prosthetics doctor at Scott Sabolich Prosthetics and Research, that are making her proper stubbies and prosthetics to go up around her hip. They build them to go around the hip so she can control them with her hip and back muscles, this helps give her control and helps the prosthetics not fall off as she walks.
After finding this new doctor Yvonne was so excited to turn 65, to finally get on what everyone thought would be a great insurance Humira and Medicare. Sadly, the insurance told her the only way they would pay for prosthesis was if she was in the hospital (WHAT, Seriously!!). The cost of prosthetics is $67k, the new doctor is giving her a great discount of $6,700. Sadly, this is a lot for her being on a limited income, and as you can imagine she was crushed. It was the first time since all this started, I’ve heard defeat in my dear friends heart, she said, “This is my destiny to stay in a wheelchair for the rest of my life". My heart broke and is breaking now as I write this. I believe everything happens for a reason, I don’t know why this is happing to my friend, and I’m truly struggling with the horrible craziness of insurance.
After her bad news I wanted to try and lift her spirts, so I did some research for a cordless lightweight vacuums. Who would’ve known there were so many really amazing ones are out there. My favorite one I found was Swiffer rechargeable Vacuum and Mop combo, why stop a vacuuming when you can also mop. When I gave it to her you would have thought she was a little kid in a toy store, her smile lit up the city from something so simple. 1st goal complete.
This GoFundMe is to help an angel with an amazing heart reach her 2nd goal. I pray you can find in your heart to help an angel get her wings. Please donate and help Yvonne get her new legs. If you can’t donate I understand, with the cost of everything going up I know it’s crazy; please forward this link and keep her in your prayers.
Thank you and bless all of you.
