Help Zach Ford Fight Cancer
Zach and Ally were married in August and are students at Purdue University. Ally is studying computer science and Zach was studying accounting and training with the Purdue Rugby team.
On October 23rd, Zach was rushed to the ER after he lost the use of his legs. Zach and Ally discovered that the paralysis was caused by a large tumor in his upper spine. He was rushed to Indianapolis to have emergency surgery to remove the tumor. During surgery, the doctors removed the tumor and fused his vertebrae. Additional scans discovered other tumors throughout his body and that spinal cord damage has resulted in a loss of mobility.
In the weeks that followed, he was diagnosed with a rare bone cancer, Ewing Sarcoma. He began chemo treatments on Friday, November 20th. It’s anticipated that Zach will have chemo and other cancer treatments for much of the next year. Currently due to COVID-19, Zach is not allowed any visitors for moral support while in the hospital.
If you have a loved one who has fought cancer, you know how expensive it is. These funds can help provide support for these young newlyweds, in a time where in-person support is not possible. Any support at this time would mean the world to Zach and Ally, and Zach and Ally mean the world to us.
We know these are hard times for many, so if financial support is not an option, you can still support by sending prayers or a message of encouragement to Zach or sharing this GoFundMe.
These funds will help Zach and Ally cover the costs of cancer treatments, travel from Michigan to Indiana for hospital stays, adapt his home for accessibility accommodations, and other medical costs.
