Help Zambians access clean drinking water
Donation protected
At the moment, Zambia is undergoing severe drought. There is a community in the township of Mbabala in the country that is in need of clean drinking water. Unfortunately at the moment, the drinking water they have access to is dirty and not safe. To fix this, there are plans by a farmer in the area, to sink a Borehole to access cleaner water. What is needed is a Borehole drill, a solar powered pump and water tank. The local farmer who is wanting to install what is needed is Mark Kawadza (his email is [email redacted]). The following is his words:
"In Zambia, my district where I come from we did not have enough rainfall as such the water resources are dry.
Even harvesting maize did not take place. We walk long distances in search of safe & clean water for drinking and for our domesticated animals.
I have been making requests on most people I feel can listen to my plight.
We intend to drill a borehole, equip it with a solar pump and water tank. This will be of much relief to us.
Sinking a borehole - $1,400
Solar kit, tank & installation - $3,100.
Total is $4,500.
No only will this help our thirsty for clean water, it will also assist us venture into gardening and this will improve our income & nutrition at household level."
This will hopefully benefit around 80 locals.
