Help Zane Kerner Battle Aggressive Cancer

Donation protected
Hi friends, family, loyalists, and loved ones of Zane Kerner--There are many of us, but there is only one Zane!

Many of you are already aware of the very serious situation going on with our dear friend, and some of you are assuredly still in the dark--so please help me spread this message--Zane needs our help.

August 20, 2024-- I received a text from Zane telling me that they had found a fist-sized tumor on his hip.
August 22, 2024-- It was confirmed to be a sarcoma. At first, they thought that upon shrinking said tumor, it would be easily operable as it was ON the bone, but they needed to shrink it first.
September 6, 2024-- They thought it wasn't spreading.
September 8, 2024-- They found it IN the bone.
September 26, 2024-- The cancer has rapidly spread to his lymph nodes in the groin. This is a VERY rapid spread. In terms of distance, physically, it seems like not that much. But in terms of cancer spreading, it typically doesn't jump that far that quickly.
*Chances of successful treatment have been lessened significantly because of this spread.
** Zane said he can't hear that nonsense and he's not giving up.
September 30, 2024-- Confirmed Stage 4 metastatic sarcoma, treatment scheduled.
October 1, 2024-- The mass in his groin hardened rapidly, treatment changed from targeted radiation followed by 2 rounds of chemo to an immediate 72-hour CONSTANT chemo drip.
October 2, 2024-- Chemotherapy begins. SEVENTY-TWO HOURS NON-STOP.
October 6, 2024-- Zane is sent home from his first treatment. He had friends and family support throughout those days, and for the first few days after--he was able to stay with his partner, Lizzi, who has been incredibly supportive throughout this.
October 9, 2024-- ZANE WENT BACK TO WORK. I capitalized this because I want you all to think about that for a minute--3 days after a 3-day chemotherapy treatment, Zane forced himself back to work. Yes, it was partially for his own sanity, but it was mainly due to necessity. Zane has bills to pay. He has rent. He has a car payment. He has insurance. Food. Pet food. Life essentials. So he feels the need to work.
FAST FORWARD>>>>>>>
October 23-28, 2024-- Zane returns for his second treatment, this time it will be 84 hours straight. He will have to do this 84-hour treatment at least one more time after that before they can operate in an attempt to remove the tumor.

***THIS IS WHERE WE COME IN***

We are Zane's community, and he is our Best Buddy. Zane's blood family are there in support as much as they can be, but you all know that times like these his CHOSEN FAMILY must step in and be the support that it will take to get him through this. Thoughts and prayers will not be enough. We need money. I'm sorry to put it so bluntly, but that's what I'm here for--to tell it like it is.

Zane has contributed so much love to this world. He has already beat cancer once in 2007-2008--Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma--and he came out of that STILL a positive force in this world. So think about that when you remember that huge bear hug that he picked you up with the last time he saw you, or that high-five he gave you that hurt your hand for an hour. Think about that smile that shines brighter than the sun when he sees a friend he hasn't seen in weeks--let alone years.

If you've known him as long as I have, you've seen Zane through highs and lows, but you've never seen him without a smile at least trying to come through. Zane is a positive force in this world, and we need more people like him. But realistically, THERE IS ONLY ONE ZANE ALEXANDER KERNER AND THIS WORLD NEEDS HIM IN IT.

So here's where I ask you to dig deep.

Yes--there are bills to pay. I want Zane's monthly expenses to be paid, but I would also like for him to have a little bit of spending money, as after this next treatment, it's not going to be so easy to go back to work in three days, let's be real. He's going to need our love and support, but just as importantly, he's going to need our financial support.

And since we're already being real--while he is getting treatment through AHN and it is good treatment--there may come a time when he needs to see a specialist outside of the state of PA--and that costs money. This fund is going to be there to support him in his daily life needs, but it will not be allowed to be spent frivolously, as it is also here to assist with treatment.

AND....

The possibility that treatment doesn't work. I'm sorry to have to put this in writing to be plain to see for all of you, but we absolutely need to be prepared for the chance of treatment not working. This cancer is serious. It is deep, and it is aggressive. Zane wants to fight. But in the event that treatment doesn't work, Zane and I are preparing his plans for what he wants, how he wants to be remembered and honored. And that too will cost money. Money that his family doesn't have to spend, money that none of us individually can spend.

So I ask you all--and I know there are A LOT OF YOU who Zane has affected positively in his 39 years on this planet, please contribute whatever you can to this fund. It will be an ongoing fight, and we will need your ongoing support.

Thank you--from Zane, Linda (Mom), Lizzi (partner), and myself (best buddy).
