Help Zayn with his fight in ICU
Donation protected
The Seguna family travelled to Malta from Australia to grieve the loss of a family member when baby Zayn became extremely ill. What started out as a common cold quickly turned into every parent's worst nightmare. Seven-month-old Zayn was diagnosed with severe bronchiolitis, causing the right lung to partially collapse. After two days in intensive care in Malta, baby Zayn's condition deteriorated, with the child requiring intubation to assist his breathing. His tiny body is struggling to fight and doctors can't guarantee his survival. His mother, Joanne, has been at his bedside while his dad Saviour takes care of Zayn's 6 year old brother Zac.
Doctors are advising that if Zayn pulls through, it may take several months of recovery before he's able to return to their home in Melbourne. If baby Zayn doesn't recover, the family will be faced with exorbitant costs for them to return home. Either way, the family will struggle financially and they desperately need help. Joanne is on maternity leave from her retail job while Saviour, a labourer, has used up all his annual leave. Family and friends are aiming to raise funds to help the Seguna family cope with rising medical costs, travel expenses and general support.
We are pleading for your generosity, even a small amount, to help the Segunas get through this nightmare, and your prayers for baby Zayn.
We'll continue to update this page as developments unfold.
*We are not sure if $50,000 is going to cover all the expenses or if it’s going to be too much. All donations will be use for the care of Zayn. Any excess funds will be donated and split between the Royal Children’s Hospital and The Great Ormond Street Hospital where Zayn is being looked after in London.
