Help Zeke Fix His Bass

Michael Hearne's Big Barn Dance was a great success this year. If you are getting this message, I hope you were there. It so happens that my bass was severely damaged when someone backstage fell on top of it and had a hard time getting up.
There is a large area backstage where musician place their instruments, sadly, it was near the cloth wall of the 'VIP' area, and someone chose to use the wall as an exit, even though it was clearly marked. A very large crack was made running the full length of the top along with several smaller cracks. The bass was made in the 1890s and is of exceptional quality. It's not an easy repair, as the estimate indicates, but the value of this instrument is far greater than the cost of repairs. Playing this bass has been one of the great loves of my life for the last 22 years. It's irreplaceable to me.
At first, it was thought that the insurance for the event would cover the cost, but alas, it was for personal liability only. Lo and behold, the cost of repair is a whopping $3,000 dollars! That's right. There's three zeros at the end of that $3. I do some odd jobs for extra money, but mostly I play my beloved instrument to make ends meet. Needless to say, I don't have $3k laying around. So if you are able and willing to chip in towards helping me get this repaired, I will sing a song and throw in a bass solo for you at a show down the road. It's all about the bass and everything matters.
Thanks,
Zeke
