Help Zin Panel at the Schomburg!

Hello, Everyone!

My name is Teri Clarke and I am the award-winning dark fantasy and horror writer Zin E. Rocklyn. I recently graduated in January of 2024 with my MFA in Creative Writing with the intention to teach and right now, I need your help.

The job market is fierce and I'm doing everything I can for income, including freelance authenticity reading, online workshops, and the like, but it is barely keeping me afloat. I'm reaching out for your assistance because I have been presented with an amazing opportunity to panel at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture on April 27th, 2024. Speaking about Black literature is my passion, especially speculative fiction, and I would absolutely love to participate.

In researching flights and hotel, it is better for rates if I schedule on off-days. I have tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, April 24th to Wednesday, May 1st. As some of you may know, I am from the Jersey City/NYC area and this would be a trip home, something I've been yearning for since my move to assist in caring for my mother who has dementia in Florida.

I am asking, practically begging for you to help me make this dream come true. Not only will I be able to continue my passion of speaking about the importance of Black Speculative Fiction, I will be able to see and visit friends and family that I've missed terribly.

The $3200 will cover my flight ($551) and my hotel ($1607) as well as ground transport and food. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. If you cannot donate, I understand, but please do share!
