Help Zuzia see the world

This is Zuzia. She is my niece. Zuzia is a four year old girl. From the outside and for people who don't know her she is a happy go lucky four year old girl who loves everything and everyone and she is an amazing big sister to her brother. However, Zuzia was born with an eye disease called congenital nystagmus and hyperopia astigmatism which has caused deterioration of the optic nerve in both eyes. She also suffers from macular hypoplasia that effects vision clarity as well as her depth perception. As a result , her vision is severely impaired. She only retains some sensitivity to light. Having nystagmus affects both Zuzia's vision and self-concept. Most people with nystagmus have some sort of vision limitations because the eyes continually sweep over what they are viewing, making it impossible to obtain a clear image , making day-to-day life for Zuzia limited. Zuzia relies on voices to identify the people in her life as she cannot identify their faces due to her reduced vision abilities. In July 2019 Zuzia had the first of a projected 10 operations to help to alleviate the situation. Support via national health is extremely limited and in order to provide Zuzia with the best possible care that she deserves we need to raise funds to allow us to buy special spectacles, as well as some electronical and light aids/equipment to aid in providing some semblance of vision for Zuzia, which will bring her one step closer to a normal day-to-day life. Zuzia copes as best as she can with the limitations her condition presents and the solution is not something that will happen overnight. She really needs specialised care especially during these early years in her development, to improve her chances of avoiding total blindness and giving her the childhood she deserves.
