Help 2 Trans Asylum Seekers from Honduras!

Donation protected

We are raising money for 2 Trans women from Honduras that are seeking asylum in Texas.

They are fleeing violence in their home country where many transgender people are rejected by their families, the church, forced to be on the street where things are dangerous and even deadly for them. By some counts, Honduras has one of the world's highest rates of homicides of trans women.

After finally getting across the border, they were detained in a detention center where they each spent 6 days in a freezing cell that is called the icebox.
They've lost friends in this journey including Roxanna Hernandez, a fellow Honduran woman seeking asylum who died in an "icebox" while in ICE custody.

The process for applying for asylum in the US can be a very long process - even years - and they need money now in order to pay for basic living necessities such as food. They are currently in the process of contacting various organizations for help but are in dire need of money immediately.

Here is a message from them both (translated from Spanish to English):

"Hello, good day. We come from two cities in Honduras. We left our country because of the organized crime there and the fact that they wanted to take our lives for simply being part of the gay and transgender community. Our dream is to get ahead and be well here in the United States, to study and to work. Our biggest desire is to have our own beauty salon here in America, we are professional stylists. We are very happy because God gave us the opportunity to get here and be well. We appreciate your help. God bless you always and thank you for supporting people like us who need your help right now. We will always be grateful to you. Blessings from us. "

Currently their only support is from their friend who is a fellow Honduran trans woman that has only very recently received her own workers visa for her asylum case and is already working to support all 3 of them. It took her 3 years to get the workers visa and they have just begun this process, which means it may be years before they can get their own job in the US and support themselves.

Please help us raise money to keep them fed and provide other basic life necessities to them.
