Help for Migrants At The Border
UndocuMedia is linking up with our good friends at the Border Angels ✊ to do something to help serve the immigrants arriving at the border in Tijuana from Central America and more recently a BIG NUMBER of Haitian immigrants (thousands). They desperately need our support.
Message from our friend Michael from the Border Angels:
"I'm at the "Iglesias embajadores de Jesus", a church that has been converted into an emergency migrant shelter in Tijuana as all the official shelters are so full they are overflowing.
Over 400 Haitian refugee and asylum seekers are staying here including at least 50 children and infants. It saddens me because it's Christmas Eve and apparently no one cares. We were the only people who ventured south of the border to help them today.
The access road has flooded and they no longer receive the two truckloads of water each day necessary to provide showers, toilets and washing. They are relying on bottled water for everything.
They are living off rice and coffee, but don't have water to cook the rice in or even to make coffee. I'm calling on people living in San Diego and Tijuana to do something about this humanitarian crisis that is happening on our back door this Christmas.
I am also asking that if you live in the area and have access to a 4WD pickup truck that you help deliver water, 55 gallon food quality drums for water storage, staple foods, hygiene products (toilet paper, soap, toothbrushes, women's sanitary pads, diapers in all sizes). Literally any basic necessity of life is required. It's a 15 minute drive from the border on the way to Playas.
The address is:
Iglesias Embajadores de Jesus, Canon Del Alacran 4094 Colonia Divina Providencia.
