Help Jessica Beat Breast Cancer
Donation protected
Jessica Wood is a very sweet, kind, caring, and awesome young nurse who works in DePaul Medical Center's Center for Birth. After noticing a lump in her breast last month, Jessica scheduled an appointment with her physician to have it checked out, and to her surprise, was diagnosed with an invasive form of breast cancer. As tragic as the news has been for her, she continues to come to work every week to grace her patients and coworkers with her warm smile, positive additude, and above all, her unshakable faith.
Jessica is only a very young 33 years old and is already facing what most likely will be the hardest battle of her life. Though insurance covers some of her treatments, there are many things that insurance just won't cover while she fights to recover. For instance, she will undoubtedly have to take some time off from work while she undergoes chemotherapy, which she starts July 30. Disability will only pay a small portion of her normal pay. Jessica and her long-time love have also decided to have embryos frozen so that they will still have the opportunity to have children in the future, for which she will also need a gestational carrier. Unfortunately, health insurance will not cover most of these costs.
Jessica is the type of person who would do everything she can to help others, whether it be her family, friends, coworkers, patients, or strangers. Even now when she is fighting breast cancer, she hasn't stopped thinking of others. Please return the favor to her by helping her now in her time of need.
