Cedars Relief - Beirut, Lebanon Medical Relief
Cedars Relief Website
Just hours after the Beirut port explosion, 2,400 lbs of emergency medical aid was collected in Los Angeles with the challenge of reaching Beirut. Cedars Relief was then formed.
Cedars Relief is a grassroots effort dedicated to providing medical aid in response to Lebanon’s compounding crises.
What is Happening In Lebanon?
Years of political negligence have plagued the nation with electoral fraud, economic collapse, a hunger crisis, and the depletion of basic public infrastructures such as reliable electricity and accessible water.
On August 4th, 2020, nearly 3,000 tons of ammonium nitrate ravaged through the Mediterranean capital, injuring thousands and crippling the port-dependent nation’s supply chain. Over 90% of the capital’s healthcare facilities were instantly damaged, resulting in one of the world’s most pressing medical crises.
What is Cedars Relief Doing?
Cedars Relief is organizing to provide medical aid to Lebanon's most vulnerable. Our efforts are dynamic, connecting supply to our growing network of partners to successfully orchestrate delivery. To date, we've provided over $5 million in valued aid and have served over 12 healthcare institutions across the nation.
