Ben's Emergency Medical Care

If you live in Kansas City, you probably know Ben . He's worked in the service industry for years, from executive chef to bartender and more. Once, he saved the day dishwashing for Novel. He even started his own lawn care business.
More recently, he's that bearded guy you've seen behind the bar at Tom's Town. There are a few bearded guys there . . . but Ben's impossibly jolly face stands out. He's always smiling, often singing, and always slinging a delicious, thoughtfully-crafted beverage.
If you've met Ben once, you haven't forgotten him.
We're asking that you don't forget him now. He's no longer behind the bar at Tom's Town, because he's in the ICU.
On Friday, August 26, Ben suffered a near fatal scooter accident. He was rushed to the hospital where doctors immediately induced a coma and began emergency brain surgery.
He cannot breathe on his own. He has not spoken since the crash. He spends every day and night heavily sedated, so his brain can begin to heal. In the meantime, he also has facial fractures around his eyes and cheekbones, a broken jaw and a broken knee, among other complications. Until his brain heals, the doctors can't even begin to address any of these issues.
The doctors don't know when he will be out of the ICU. Ben has months of surgeries and rehabilitation ahead of him.
There is no known time frame for his recovery. What's more, there is no known cost.
Which is why we need your help. Pour one out for Ben and contribute to his recovery. We can't do it without you.
