Hi everyone, I feel guilty asking for help for myself, as I know there are other folks in even worse circumstances than my own. Don't feel pressured to help, I certainly understand that many of us are struggling and I hope that we all can somehow get through our own obstacles. I'll try to quickly summarize. Unfortunately in the state I live (Florida), we don't have Medicaid expansion for the lower income people that need it most. I am not able to afford medical/dental/vision insurance, and I am not eligible for Medicaid, so I'm left to find low cost or sliding scale or charity options for my various health problems. Unfortunately the many places I've visited or reached out to are struggling themselves during the pandemic, with dentists having covid or not wanting to risk infections with patients or there being a waiting list that spans into 2021. I thought I was going to get help this past Monday, but it didn't work out after the dentist saw what would be required beyond a typical extraction. I'm not sure which is the more pressing issue between my aching teeth or my aching eyes, so I've set this up to go towards both if I'm fortunate enough. I currently am in need of one surgical extraction for tooth #13 that I broke while trying to pull it out myself with pliers. Due to the way it broke, the extraction is more complex than if it were undamaged, and the charity and low cost options have been ruled out. Perhaps if we weren't in the middle of a pandemic, there would be more options, but I haven't found them after searching for months (for instance there's usually an annual first-come first-serve charity dental clinic in Florida where dozens of dental professionals help hundreds of people in need, but it was canceled this year). In addition to the extraction, I have 2 other nearby teeth in need of root canals and crowns. I planned on waiting as I did with tooth #13, but then those teeth will likely be unsalvageable and soon I'll have a smile like Sabrina, Serena, or Sophia. Ugh. As for my eyes, the pressures are often unstable and it's incredibly painful & frustrating. My (and my mom's) ophthalmologist (he helps us as much as he can charitably but anything requiring an office visit isn't part of that) has helped me try several eye drops, but I'm overdue for a complete exam that will help determine what my treatment options are at this point. I'm also in need of a new eye exam for my glasses, my current Rx is from before Sabrina’s rescue and I am confident it could use some adjusting. The $2500 is arbitrary, beyond the teeth & eye issues I'm currently without a working phone or computer (which I depend on for making/editing videos), and am currently out of work due to both the pandemic and my health issues... so any and all help is welcome. I'd be incredibly grateful for any help, it would be a huge relief to at least get through the most urgent/painful issues and hopefully my (and everyone else's) circumstances will improve sooner rather than later to climb out of this hole. Thanks for your time, Brad
