Help Cassie Kick Cancer's Ass
Donation protected
Hello friends,
I'm reaching out to each of you in hopes to raise funds to help offset medical and travel expenses for Cassie Cole. Let me start with telling you that Cassie is the most amazing and loving wife, sister, aunt, mother, daughter, niece and friend.
In December 2015 at the age of 33, Cassie was diagnosed with MDS RAEB-2 (Myelodysplastic Syndrome- Refractory Anemia with Excess Blast-2). This is a rare very aggressive form of Blood Cancer that usually affects people over the age of 65. Cassie's case is even more rare because of her age.
The only treatment option for this cancer is a Stem Cell Transplant. The closest hospital that has the capability to do this procedure and treatment is Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, TX, which is three hours away from her home in Shreveport, LA.
After the transplant, she will have to stay in Dallas for treatment for 90-100 days. Although Cassie has insurance, it will not cover all (or even most) of the expenses involved in her journey. The insurance will not cover her travel and medical lodging. Because of the procedure and treatment, she will need to stay in special medical housing following the transplant.
With medical and day-to-day bills piling up, it will be impossible to pay for housing and other expenses that come along with treatment.
With two rounds of chemo down and a stem cell transplant to go, going to Baylor is the next scheduled stop in Cassie's journey.
Although we don't know the total cost for everything, we figure the final tally to be over $15,000! This is where you come in. With your donation, this will help pay for treatment, medical lodging, prescriptions, etc.
Cassie is beautiful, strong willed, and has remained positive throughout her battle against this illness. She is relentless in her efforts to kick this cancer's ASS!
Your donation is so greatly appreciated and know that every little bit helps continue Cassie's road to treatment and recovery.
