Cure Carmen!! Our Radiation Fund
Donation protected
In December 2015 I felt a lump on Carmen's chest that seemed abnormal. We scheduled a visit with our regular doctor who aspirated the tumor, the results came back with a high chance of cancer. We were devastated. A week later we had the tumor removed and that's when the doctor confirmed that the tumor was a soft tissue sarcoma called a hemangiopericytoma. After a lot of research and second and third and fourth opinions we have decided to take Carmen to MedVet for an aggressive course of radiation therapy. This therapy will include 19 sessions of radiation which will require her to go Monday through Friday for four weeks. The start date is Monday February 29th. This news was very hard to take but the course of treatment is what I, as well as many others, feel is best for Carmen and her future.
The cost of the radiation therapy is extremely high, I was quoted over $6000 for the therapy itself. In addition, she will need a CT scan at $800, X-Rays at $250, bloodwork at $200 and medication between $100-300. The total amount is hard to swallow but I hope with the help of friends and family I will be able to offset some of the costs.
As you all know, Carmen holds a special place in my heart as well as many of you. She is a part of my family and I want to be able to say I have tried everything for her. Thank you for your support through this hard time for us.
