Lily Taylor Morgan needs your help.
A most precious angel, was delivered safe and sound by C-Section in Fort McMurray on August 26, 2014.
She was delivered as a preemie at approximately 35.5 weeks gestation weighing 4lbs. 12oz. and 17" long.
On September 5th, Lily was admitted to the local hospital for observation due to respiratory conditions. Later that night she was sent by medi-vac to the Stollery Children's Hospital at the U of A in Edmonton.
Lily's heart did not develop properly. At the bottom of her heart where she should have 2 (out of the 4 in total) valves, she has none. Instead, there is a rather large hole that needs to be repaired.
As an additional result, her lungs are being affected and her kidneys are beginning to shut down.
Since arriving at the Stollery, Lily has been stabilized with a central line to her heart, a total of 9 different IV meds PLUS an additional IV line for saline with glucosamine to keep her calorie intake and weight from dropping.
April (mom) and Matt (dad) were advised today (September 6) that Lily will require Open Heart Surgery. This means they will open up her chest (breaking her rib cage) to do what they can to repair her heart and help her to get on track with the healthy lifestyle that she deserves.
Lily will have to remain at the Stollery for a minimum of 3-4 weeks and upon being discharged, will need to stay in Edmonton for a minimum of 7-10 days before being allowed to travel back to her home in Fort McMurray.
April and Matt also have 2 other young girls (Brianna, 7 and Chloe, 15 months) that are being cared for by family and friends during this time while they remain at Lily's side.
There will be MANY expenses for this family over the next year and more with travel, meds, hotels, etc.
We kindly ask for you to open your arms and your hearts to try and help alleviate some of the financial hardships that this family is only just beginning to endure.
