Help George & Diane Machart

Hello friends. My name is Peggy Peterson and I am fundraising for my dear friends, George and Diane Machart, of Machart Glass in Monee, Illinois.

George recently fell on a patch of ice and broke his ankle bones in three places. This required surgery and will require extensive recovery and rehabilitation time.

There are now mounting hospital, surgical and rehabilitation bills for George. This is in addition to extensive and ongoing testing, diagnostic and medical bills for Diane.

George states on his Facebook profile page “I am a Christian Man, Husband, Father, Craftsman. If you know who I was you don’t know who I am now.” That is George. Diane’s profile states “Married for many, many years with two wonderful sons.” That is Diane. That is the Macharts in a nutshell. Family & community are their lives. They have both been a blessing to so many.

We are hoping that their community, family, and friends will be able to help them meet some of these expenses.

George is an independent glass artist who, in his own studio, creates magnificent, one of a kind vases, paperweights, and sculptures. George has also been a hairdresser for 38 years. Diane is the background worker doing paperwork, photographing glass, and keeping up with all it takes to produce and keep both independent businesses up and running.

George recently shut down his glass blowing furnace to help Diane who has been chronically ill for numerous years. She has been battling debilitating pain amongst other afflictions.

Diane has been and continues to have extensive blood work and other testing. She is seeking help in finding answers and treatment that will enable her to get her life back from the constant pain and inflammatory issues she has been living with. These afflictions have greatly diminished her ability to function normally.

George is fully self employed. Due to this accident, his abilities to work will be diminished for at least 12 weeks. This has created the additional stress and pressure that accompanies loss of income.
