HELPING A BROTHER, WHO ALWAYS HELPS OTHERS - MIKE

Hello friends, on October 17, 2021, one of our dedicated volunteer firefighters had his life changed in an instant and in a way that no one should. At 47 years young, Mike Dolan suffered a massive medical trauma. You may know Mike as the president of our firehouse, Volunteer Hose Co. 2 in West Haverstraw, a role he has filled over the past 26 consecutive years. I’m willing to take a bet that he is the longest sitting President of a firehouse in Rockland County, NY. You may also know Mike as the manager of numerous Petsmart stores in the tri-state region for the past 20 years or maybe as a former volunteer basketball coach for the Haverstraw PAL. Either way, this man has dedicated over 30 years of his time, volunteering for his community and those in need.

Regardless of how you know Mike, he is just like us; he works hard, would give you the shirt off his back and hates to ask for assistance. Mike has organized fundraisers for people in the past, but now, he can use your assistance. Unfortunately, Mike's insurance company prematurely terminated his in-patient rehabilitation services. His family filed and lost two appeals to remain for the much-needed services, sending him home on 48-hours notice to a house that was not conditioned for Mikes' new daily living abilities. Mike has to renovate a portion of his home to assist him in his daily activities; he is unable to work at this time, requires the services of a 24-hour live-in aid, at-home therapy services and as you can imagine, coupled with some of his medical bills, this is a costly undertaking. Despite these obstacles, Mike has a fantastic disposition and gives 110% in all of his therapy sessions as he works to get his life back. We do not doubt that in the future, Mike will pay it forward to the best of his ability; that's the type of person that he is.

While he has come a long way in a short period, Mike still has a long road ahead of him. Therefore, we respectfully ask if you could donate to assist Mike in his recovery.
