Helping a family survive misfortune

Hello GoFundMe friends, I am raising money for an amazing family fighting through a storm of bad luck and tragedy.

This family is from San Jose it is a mom, dad, and little 3 year old angel. They were expecting to add another little angel in November 2018. I work with the father as he works in the IT industry and was trying to work his way up and grow his career. The mom worked remotely from home to be able to help pay the bills and also save on child care. They were doing their best paycheck to paycheck with raising one baby while expecting the second.

Unfortunately, in January 2018, despite his great performance in his role, the management in his company walked 85 people into a room over 2 weeks and told them all that there has been a change in direction and they were all out of a job, including this awesome papa.

Without a line of support, no income, and bills still due he started asking his friends for help getting another job. One of our mutual friends directed him my way. We started working together and I helped him find a job. We then went through weeks of paperwork, dealing with gathering documents, tracking down the IRS, you name it. More weeks went by without pay.

Finally, everything gets approved and his first day is Monday March 26th. YAY. It's the first day back to work and making money to support his family. Then BOOM on Tuesday morning it all comes undone again. He gets the call everyone dreads getting about their loved ones. The hospital is calling you as the emergency contact for your loved one.

Without sharing too much detail, the basic summary is his wife is T-Boned by a semi truck, car is totaled, her ribs and both legs are broken, she is in critical condition, and he needs to be at the hospital ASAP. In absolute shock, tears, and with a broken heart he rushes there to see she has been sedated. It's confirmed they, for now, will remain a family of three only. Her body couldn't take it.

He calls her parents right away...more bad news. Her sister has passed that day as well, the parents are on their way to Mexico to plan the funeral and support their son in law. They can't help with childcare and they only have time to stop by and see their other daughter that they have now almost lost.

It's all on him now. The next 8 months, minimum, of his wife's recovery, childcare, and trying to find an income. This wonderful professional man comes into my office apologizing left and right about having to resign while we try to tell him we understand. All he could focus on is not crying and trying to apologize profusely for not being able to give two weeks notice. Sweetest guy.

Well, we want him to know HE IS NOT ALONE. That there are great people with a heart out in this world who know how quickly lives can change. We want to show our support while he tries to be the best father and husband he can be, helping his wife through appointments and therapy.
We want to help cover his rent, food, and expenses as much as possible.

Let's show this man that telling your story and being open to help can bring amazing support way beyond our dreams. Whether you can give a few dollars which could buy his little girl a meal or hundreds that can help pay this unbelievable bay area rent, every little thing helps!

Thank you in advance to people I know as well as those wonderful human beings out there I have never met for helping me in supporting this genuinely sweet, amazing, hardworking family in their time of misfortune and unbelievable, unexpected tragedy.

Never forget to hold your loved ones close, you never know how fast things can change.

Lots of love to you all!
