Helping a single mother & baby thrive

Lexie chose life. In the summer of 2022, she found herself with an unplanned pregnancy at the age of 21 but knew that she wanted her little girl to know that she had a PURPOSE in this world. Choosing life was a scary decision to make b/c it would mean that she would be raising the baby by herself without a stable income. But one day she met a lady at the beginning of pregnancy who encouraged her to put it in God’s hands.
After meeting Lexie when she was just a few months pregnant, our friendship quickly emerged. We ate dinners together and she came along to assist me on my photo shoots (I'm a professional photographer). We chatted about finding a job that could support her and her baby. And then, her living situation dramatically changed leaving her to face homelessness. She stood strong, day in and day out, working temporary jobs and submitting too many job applications to count. She remained in the Women’s Shelter, hoping for a better life for her baby while using her hard-earned money to pay off debt that had accumulated over the past year. She remained vulnerable with me, calling me in tears about how everything kept piling up. To her, this all felt endless and overwhelming.
Fast forward to February 2, 2023. Sweet, little Haven surprises her mama by coming a week early! Lexie is a natural mama… Kind, gentle, and patient. But she has no home to call her own yet, and the debt still looms large... We have job ideas that are taking root in her life and I’m trying to show her the possibility of what life can bring. She desires a job that allows her to stay at home with Haven. She’s exploring painting address numbers, and housekeeping, and I'm teaching her about the photography business. We need your help to give this precious sweet momma and her baby a new start, a clean slate. We want to wipe out her debt and help give her the tools to build her own business, to sustain her for the long run.
You'll see our financial requests below. We’ve added in money that will give her the ability to start her own career path. She wants you to know that this would help make a difference in not only her life but her baby girl's life. This could change the trajectory of their family, allowing her to build an established income to help her family thrive.
Here are ways we are looking to invest in Lexie & Haven's future:
~ $7400
Car debt with an interest rate of 20.99%
She has been advised to pay it off in full instead of being faced with a repossession which would negatively affect her credit score. Selling the car and purchasing one that’s cheaper than $7400 doesn’t seem wise. And she has to have a car in order to provide for her new family.
So, she can either (a) pay it off in full or (b) get a donated car (this can go through the non-profit https://wheelsfromtheheart.org for a tax write-off) but still pay down the interest she owes.
~ $2840
Personal Debt (towards past car repairs, etc…)
~ $1000
New business expenses (painting address numbers, housekeeping supplies, and photography equipment)
From Lexie: "Photographing my baby girl Haven has inspired me to capture the beauty of motherhood. I am currently in training with Shannon Williams from OverflowCreativeStudio.com to learn more. I’m looking for donations for a Canon camera body and Canon lenses. With a donation of $150, you will receive a 20-minute photo session as I train beside Shannon to help me build my portfolio. I will also give you 10 high-res digital files with this offer."
Seeking $11,240 in support.
