Rebuild Adigrat
Donation protected
In the news, we catch snippets of atrocities happening on the other side of the world: wars, genocide, and food insecurity... It's easy to feel sad for a moment but then turn our minds to the next thing. Maybe sometimes, we want to help but are faced with inertia because we don't know how.
For the past two years, my friends in Adigrat, Ethiopia have lived in a war zone: without internet or phones, without work or school, with very little electricity and food, and were completely cut off from their families and the world. There are many reports of war crimes, rape, and mass killings, and their schools, hospitals, and businesses were vandalized and destroyed. It has been horrible, and many people are suffering greatly.
The GOOD news is the war is over. Phone and internet have been restored. The people in Adigrat are strong and resilient, and it's time to REBUILD.
Here is an opportunity we can help!
My friend, Abba Welde Selassie, is one of the founding leaders of a non-profit group in Adigrat called OMCUCA (Orthodox, Muslim, Catholic Unity Charitable Association). Their mission is to help orphans and families living in poverty.
He emailed me a few weeks ago asking for help.
This is a great opportunity to bypass international relief groups and send 100% of the funds directly to OMCUCA.
$3000 would make a HUGE impact. It would be amazing!
$20 can support one child for 1 month (food, water, medicine, basic supplies)
$50 can support one family of 4 people
$100 = would provide for 2 families etc.
Please join this GoFundMe, and know that you can help!
