Helping An Un-Housed Veteran

Heya! My name is Michael and I’m raising funds for an un-housed veteran.

My mum is a Proud Lion at heart. If you’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing her, she’ll tell you herself lol. What she won’t tell you (and I’ve been reluctant to share) is that she’s been battling an un-housed situation for years. She left a volatile living situation with a male family member, and it’s been an on-going battle that’s been draining mentally, and financially on us both. After legal fees; her apartment no longer accepting her VA-rent assistance; and a fall last year that’s limited her mobility, she’s decided to move to Northern Virginia again to be closer to me. I spent my birthday moving her and Eggplant, her pitbull service puppy, up from Jacksonville, Florida to Springfield.

With my current living situation, we cannot have any more pets staying with us indefinitely, so with the help of very supportive friends and family, I have her and Eggplant staying at an Extended Stay America while the dept of Veteran Affairs does what they can to help her find a new living space, and until I can find her a house she can afford as a first time home buyer w/ VA benefits.

I’m raising funds to help out my mum and Eggplant to stay at the Extended Stay America for at least a month in hopes the Veteran Affairs can find a place or I can use my Real Estate license to find my family a home.
