Helping Anthony With Medical Debt

Donation protected
Hey everyone, I am here humbly and graciously asking for your help.

On May 27th I suffered an unfortunate accident while riding my bike at Thunder Mountain Bike Park in Massachusetts.
I was driven by ambulance to Bay State Greenfield where it was determined that I had a broken clavicle, scapula, five ribs, concussion, and numerous pneumothoraces. After a while of consideration, I was told that I needed to be transferred to another facility, and ultimately decided that Dartmouth would be the best place for me to receive care in a direction closer to home. This transfer required a two-hour ambulance ride. The Trauma and surgical teams at Dartmouth decided that due to the number of injuries, a surgical repair of my clavicle was in my best interest to ensure proper recovery. Right around that time, the pneumothoraces worsened and a surgical team had to insert a chest tube to remove the air from the space around my lungs. The chest tube remained in and on suction for 8 days before my lung finally stayed expanded on its own. I spent a total of 11 long days at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center being cared for by an incredible team of nurses, doctors, and others. I feel incredibly grateful for the level of care that I was able to receive while there.

The reality that I am facing now is that this type of care isn't cheap, and even with insurance I am looking at total medical expenses of just under $90,000. Honestly, this is hard for me to do, and I probably wouldn't be able to bring myself to ask for help unless I thought there was no other way to handle this, but I am facing this massive debt on top of my nearly $100k in student loan debt, and I feel totally debilitated by the situation. So here I am, asking for any help that you're able to provide. Even if that means just sharing this fundraiser with friends and family. I'd love for the opportunity to move forward from this mentally as well as physically.

Once I'm feeling recovered from the effects of the head injury I plan to dispute most of these billing decisions with the insurance company. I will hopefully be able to end this fundraiser much sooner than the 100k goal -- fingers crossed.
