Helping Baby Ezra

Please join me in helping raise funds for the beautiful Brown family.
I have had the privilege of meeting this incredible family through my work as an educator. Their two oldest boys came through our Little Village before they moved out of town. I remember being blessed with the opportunity to hold their third child days after he was born. I haven’t met the fourth boy, Ezra, but have followed his journey into life via social media. It is through social media that I hope to be able to provide them any extra time with their precious bub that I can.
Their new baby boy has been fighting for his life and is now in palliative care. We would love to raise enough so that they are able to stay home with baby Ezra and spend time showing him all the love they have to give.
A few words from mum, Abi, on their journey so far:
“Thursday, March 21st I found Ezra blue and not breathing in his afternoon nap. After being rushed into emergency and living in the Peadeatric critical care unit for a weekend, we have had to have some really tough conversations and see things no parents ever should.
Due to the lack of oxygen that Ezra’s brain was starved of, he has endured severe brain damage to the majority of his brain and has been diagnosed with an hypoxic brain injury. More damaged areas have been found than healthy parts in our scans. The little Ezra that I had only just met is forever gone. He has copped a significant number of injuries and ones that my sweet boy will never heal from.
He has had to live on life support and be kept heavily sedated with anti seizure medications, both viral and bacterial anti biotics, round the clock morphine, he's had to endure a blood transfusion and have had tests, scans and have needles poking and prodding his pure little body.
We had taken him off all of the medication on week 2 and as we took out his breathing tube the drs prepared us of the chances of his survival, let alone living a
"normal" life, is unlikely and we needed to make preparations to say goodbye.
We’ve been bombarded by love and support from our tribe. Thank you.
We are enjoying every minute we have with him.
His scans suggest that if he does survive this accident that he will never be able to walk or talk and tell me he loves me, He sadly won't ever meet his milestones and the intelligence of him is left unknown, it's been explained to us that his organs will slowly shut down on him. He will forever be 8 weeks old.
Ezra, your big beautiful blue eyes sometimes acknowledge me or your brothers which tells me you’re here with me sometimes. You seem to be doing all the right baby things with no seizures, and today we heard you be vocal. We're living day by day. Literally.
Mr Ezra Banks, you are so freaking perfect, thank you for allowing me this time to heal with you, with Brad and with the world. I am so proud of you of us and your brothers for still standing and holding each other.”
This is a terribly tough time for Abi, Brad and their other three boys, Karter, Nixxon and Tyrani. Any support we can provide them can mean an extra day away from work with their family, soaking in the little moments and capturing them in their memories.
