Helping Ben Anderson With Medical Expenses

Donation protected
Hey everyone. I am asking for help for my good friend Ben Anderson. He's in the midst of some unknown health problems and could really use some support. Ben is an amazing person and has helped so many people including donating part of his own liver to save a 3-year-old boy. He's honestly the most selfless person I know. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here is his current situation:

"I am at a loss of words at the moment. The last couple of weeks I have been having chronic fatigue and headaches. No matter what I tried the symptoms would not go away. I thought maybe it was an illness or the spring bug that is going around. I did complete blood work to make sure there were no abnormalities. Everything came back within normal ranges, but I could not shake the fatigue and headache. This resulted in me going to Urgent Care and they did a CAT scan which showed fluid build up on my brain. They requested that I immediately get to an Emergency Room for further neurological testing. When I was there I received multiple Brain MRI’s and they revealed no brain tumors (good news), but it seemed that I had large ventricles in my brain (hydrocephalus). Which means that there is excess fluid buildup, (that’s not great news). They also did a spinal tap to examine the cerebral spinal fluid and check for any abnormalities. The preliminary spinal tap results indicate no pressure build up or meningitis in my spine thankfully. In total, I spent almost fourteen hours total in the emergency department on Friday March 29th.

At this time my care team is unsure what is causing all of this. They are trying to eliminate everything else first. I will have further neurological testing in the future. Additionally, I have been referred for a sleep study for potential sleep apnea. The process for both of these tests will take an additional six weeks just to see anyone. At the moment, it looks like a long road ahead of me for some answers. I am scared, exhausted, and unfortunately still in pain. This process is slow moving and unfortunately means I will not receive answers for awhile.

With all of that being said, my place of employment has decent health insurance but the specialty care providers I will see will still cost me upwards of tens of thousands of dollars prior to reaching the deductible. I wish the health care system was not like this, but it is the reality of my situation. Like I mentioned, this is the beginning of my road to recovery. I do not know what is ahead of me. Unfortunately, the financial strain of these bills is immediate and I am asking for help to stay afloat. I know finances are tight for everyone right now and I would appreciate any help. I thank you for any amount you can donate. If you prefer to donate directly to me, my venmo is Ben-Anderson-1995."
