Helping Brookie and the Kids

Hi, I'm Emily, one of Brooke's close friends. Yesterday, December 22, 2022, Hugo was home with his Dad who suffered some sort of brain hemorrhage. Hugo had to call 911 himself and wait for the paramedics. Tommy was rushed to Providence

and had emergency brain surgery to relieve the pressure in his brain and will be in the ICU for the forseeable future. In addition to this nightmare for Brookie and Hugo and Vivi, Brookie had her own emergency surgery the day prior on her knee cap which she broke in a fall a few weeks back. She is supposed to be resting and healing and the emergency yesterday only made her recovery more difficult as she had to get to the hospital on crutches to support Hugo and his Dad. As all of us who know Brooke are aware, her recovery from her own knee surgery was already going to be a difficult road. This unimagined crisis with Tommy is just a punch to the gut for she and the kids. We are rallying around however we can as their community and any amount is welcomed to support them in focusing on healing, health, community and the kids getting the emotional/mental health support they need after the trauma of yesterday and seeing their father in such an acute state of distress.
